Data Annotation Specialist, Engineering (civil, mechanical, electrical, chemical)

A part-time, contract Data Annotation Specialist role at Cohere, evaluating and improving how the AI model handles engineering (civil, mechanical, electrical, chemical) tasks, working remotely within Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the model's ability to respond to engineering procedures and workflows
  • Task the model with engineering tasks, using verified information to assess response accuracy
  • Label, proofread, and improve machine-written and human-written engineering-related outputs
  • Follow the style guide and make recommendations for situations outside its scope

Requirements

  • 3+ years of industry experience in an engineering field (civil, mechanical, electrical, or chemical)
  • Education background in engineering (Bachelor's, Master's, or similar)
  • Experience on medium-to-large scale engineering projects involving design, prototyping, and manufacturing
  • Experience with CAD software, material billing, and product lifecycle management (PLM)

Nice to have

  • Technician/engineering specialist training and experience

Soft skills

Precision and attention to detailAbility to work independently as a contractor

What we offer

  • 30 CAD/hour contract rate, minimum 16 hours per week
