Technical Revenue Manager

As Technical Revenue Manager on Cohere's Finance team, you'll own complex revenue recognition positions, ensuring robust frameworks that support the company's AI-native products and monetization strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Own complex revenue technical positions for AI-native companies on high-impact revenue recognition projects
  • Analyze and implement accounting treatment for complex revenue transactions, including non-standard contracts, modifications, new products, and credit/usage-based pricing
  • Review complex revenue arrangements to identify terms and conditions that impact revenue recognition
  • Design and implement systems and processes to automate revenue recognition
  • Partner with Deal Desk, Go-to-Market, and Strategic Finance teams to standardize and automate deal approvals
  • Execute complex ASC 606 technical evaluations and draft comprehensive revenue accounting memos
  • Support the external audit process and lead cross-functional ad hoc projects

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience with ASC 606 for SaaS, consumption-based, and professional services arrangements
  • 6+ years of experience in internal controls, SOX/ICFR, audit, or financial process risk within high-growth tech/SaaS environments
  • Proven experience advising Product and GTM teams on revenue recognition implications
  • Strong contract review experience with multi-element arrangements, milestone-based SOWs, and credit/usage models
  • Familiarity with order-to-cash workflows and revenue automation tools (e.g., NetSuite ARM)
  • Expert knowledge of consumption-based and subscription billing models

  • Compensation range: $115,000–$240,000 USD (US candidates) / $160,000–$250,000 CAD (Canada candidates)
