Technical Support Engineer

Responsibilities

• ▹Perform root-cause analysis on complex issues and distributed tracing gaps across polyglot environments
• ▹Act as a strategic consultant for senior engineers at the largest enterprise customers
• ▹Troubleshoot SDK implementations, digging deep into Sentry SDK source code
• ▹Serve as the feedback bridge between developers and product teams
• ▹Engineer deterministic support paths and build the knowledge base for support agents
• ▹Build agentic tooling using MCP (Model Context Protocol) and Sentry's internal APIs

Requirements

• ▹4+ years of experience in technical support engineering, systems engineering, or software development
• ▹Strong coding foundations in Python, JavaScript, Java, or Ruby; comfortable reading SDK source code and identifying bugs
• ▹Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and APIs
• ▹Practical familiarity with LLM orchestration (RAG, context windows, system prompts)
• ▹Exceptional communication: able to explain complex architecture to humans and write precise instructions for AI

Nice to have

• ▹Active open-source contributor / GitHub presence
• ▹Former software developer background
