Software Engineer, AI Platform

Responsibilities

• ▹Own a pivotal role in prototyping, developing and scaling AI platform systems and core primitives
• ▹Partner closely with product teams to deliver production-ready guardrails and paved paths
• ▹Work across infrastructure, shared libraries, APIs and product integration points
• ▹Operate critical AI systems in production, using observability and diagnostics to debug failures and improve latency and cost
• ▹Help Notion safely adopt new models, providers and AI capabilities through versioning, controlled rollouts and compatibility layers

Requirements

• ▹Experience on LLM, ML platform, data or infrastructure teams owning critical shared systems
• ▹Adaptability and curiosity working across rapidly changing models and providers
• ▹Extreme ownership across ambiguous problem spaces
• ▹Thoughtful, cross-layer problem-solving and debugging
• ▹Pragmatic, business-oriented tradeoff thinking across quality, latency, cost and speed

Nice to have

• ▹2-4 years of experience as a Software Engineer
• ▹Experience with applied AI product development (prompting, evals, model integrations, quality measurement)
• ▹Built and scaled data processing pipelines with Apache Spark or Ray
• ▹Full-stack experience in the TypeScript and Node.js ecosystem
• ▹Experience building MLOps and ML serving infrastructure
