Staff Platform Engineer

Responsibilities

• ▹Design, build, and evolve cloud infrastructure platforms: networking, IAM, Kubernetes, databases, streaming/pubsub, storage, observability
• ▹Lead the architecture and operational evolution of multi-tenant, multi-region, and multi-cloud infrastructure
• ▹Design and implement build pipelines, branching strategies, release management tooling, and self-service platform workflows
• ▹Design, implement, and scale secure-by-default cloud infrastructure practices (CI/deployment scans, least privilege, auditing, SoC2/HIPAA compliance)
• ▹Build reusable infrastructure abstractions, Terraform modules, and developer platform capabilities
• ▹Help advocate for scalable application testing pipelines (E2E UI tests, load tests, resiliency testing)
• ▹Drive improvements in observability, operational readiness, incident response, and SLO-driven reliability practices
• ▹Partner closely with engineering, security, and compliance teams
• ▹Influence infrastructure cost and capacity strategy
• ▹Mentor, document, and train the organization on cloud-native platform engineering strategies

Requirements

• ▹10+ years of software and infrastructure engineering experience, including significant infrastructure-as-code experience in cloud-first organizations
• ▹Experience designing and operating large-scale Kubernetes platforms; cloud-native technologies including ArgoCD, Argo Rollouts, Istio
• ▹Deep understanding of Kubernetes platform architecture and operations (workload isolation, autoscaling, networking, service mesh, multi-tenant cluster design)
• ▹Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD systems for infrastructure-as-code and application delivery (Terragrunt, Atlas, ArgoCD, Octopus Deploy, Travis CI)
• ▹Experience building scalable infrastructure-as-code platforms using Terraform, with modular architectures and remote state management
• ▹Experience with monitoring and observability tooling (metrics, logs, traces) such as Grafana, Datadog, Honeycomb
• ▹Comfortable implementing and securing services in GCP as infrastructure-as-code (GCP Projects, VPC, GKE, IAM)
• ▹Experience designing secure-by-default infrastructure (least-privilege access, workload identity, network segmentation, secret management)
• ▹Strong operational instincts, debugging distributed systems, leading incident response
• ▹Experience with backend languages (e.g. Python, GoLang, Node, Rust)
