Energy & Drives team supports port crane project deliveries with unique engineering expertise in power supply technologies like generator sets, electrical drives as well as battery and hybrid solutions. We are currently on the lookout for an Engineer who will take responsibility for the engineering tasks related to inverter-controlled drive systems and battery energy storage & battery charging systems . In this role you will participate in delivery and development projects, as well as support project engineering activities with deep knowledge of your focus areas. You’ll primarily work with Rubber-Tired Gantry (RTG) cranes while also contributing to projects involving other types of port cranes. You’ll also occasionally participate in testing work at Konecranes and customer sites. Your key responsibilities​ Engineering responsibility for electrical drive systems Engineering tasks for battery and battery charging topics Technical communication with our current and new suppliers Supporting project teams and business lines in related topics and giving technical guidance What should you bring? To succeed in this role, you have good knowledge of inverter controlled electrical drives and at least basic knowledge of battery systems. You’re also highly motivated to continuously develop your engineering talent in the domain of power supply technologies. You should also have: B.Sc or M.Sc in electrical engineering, preferably in the field of power electronics At least ~3 years work experience with inverter-controlled drives Fluency in written and spoken English; Finnish language skills are an asset Readiness for business travel a few times a year Seen as an advantage: Experience in industrial-level battery energy storages and charging systems Experience with port cranes and their components Why join our team?
