Extracurricular Internship: Embedded Software Engineer - eBike (f/m/div.)

Your contribution to something big: Develop and maintain software tools for early prototyping, R&D activities, embedded testing, and product certification. Support the development and optimization of the embedded software toolchain, contributing to improved efficiency and productivity across the development process. Create and enhance automation solutions, including scripts, build processes, and CI/CD workflows that support software development and industrialization. Collaborate with international and cross-functional teams to develop user-friendly GUI and CLI applications for embedded systems and engineering activities. Contribute to software quality and traceability by applying version control, documentation, artifact management, and modern development best practices. What distinguishes you: Education: Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronic, Electrical, Mechatronic, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Experience: Active involvement in academic projects, personal coding projects, or hardware hobbies is highly valued. Know-how: Good knowledge in C embedded software development. Familiarity with scripting languages, particularly Python. Basic understanding of Linux operating systems systems and their integration in the development process. Basic understanding of low-level hardware concepts. Experience with Hardware probing tools. Exposure to basic communication interfaces (e.g., UART, SPI, I2C, CAN). Ability to read basic hardware schematics or component datasheets. Knowledge about toolchain development, including ARM GNU tools and CMake. Understanding of electronic circuits and bare metal development. Languages: Excellent written and spoken English communication skills. Working Style and Personality: Enthusiastic, eager to learn, and curious. A proactive team player with good communication skills who is motivated by hardware-software integration.
