Formlabs is hiring a Digital Systems Engineer to design, enhance and maintain applications across its digital landscape: eCommerce, CRM, Marketing and Sales/Service. The core of the role is back-end development on the Shopify B2B Commerce platform — Shopify Apps, Functions & Extensions and APIs in a headless context — along with enterprise integrations connecting Shopify, Salesforce, ERP and DWH systems. It is explicitly not a front-end Shopify role and requires 5+ years of full-stack experience building eCommerce or digital platforms for a B2B business.
Responsibilities
- ▹Architect, develop, configure and customize the back-end Shopify B2B Commerce platform, including Shopify Apps, Shopify Functions & Extensions and Shopify APIs
- ▹Design and develop complex B2B capabilities beyond Shopify B2B's standard features, with integration capabilities throughout the Formlabs digital landscape
- ▹Partner with headless front-end teams, providing backend expertise, data and API endpoints for fast, SEO-optimized user experiences
- ▹Partner with the Salesforce team to architect and develop key integrations, features and functions enabling sales and service excellence
- ▹Collaborate on and drive enterprise integrations between Shopify, Salesforce, ERP, DWH and other internal/external systems using APIs and middleware
- ▹Contribute to digital roadmap initiatives such as marketing automation, AI-driven tools for sales and service, and vendor solutions
- ▹Deliver well-documented, clean, efficient code using modern practices: version/branch control, QA, CI/CD, deployment keys
- ▹Collaborate with stakeholders and technical partners to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions
- ▹Contribute to the strategic direction of Formlabs' digital landscape
Requirements
- ▹5+ years of professional experience as a full-stack engineer building eCommerce or digital platforms for a B2B business
- ▹Proven back-end proficiency in Shopify B2B, Shopify Apps, Shopify Functions & Extensions and Shopify APIs in a headless context (not a front-end role)
- ▹Experience with enterprise integration and the complexities of integrating Shopify, Salesforce, ERP and DWH in a fast-moving business
- ▹Experience with the Salesforce ecosystem: Apex, Lightning, Flow, validation rules, automations and APIs
- ▹Data savviness: ability to write SQL queries from scratch and knowledge of data warehouse concepts and tools (e.g. BigQuery)
- ▹Experience with software development and deployment tools: GitHub, Gearset, Kubernetes
- ▹Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

- ▹Shopify Verified Skills and Badges (e.g. Shopify B2B: Launch and Customization, Foundations, Discovery and Solution Design)
- ▹Salesforce Developer certifications (e.g. Platform Developer I/II) and Apex experience
- ▹Experience with iPaaS middleware or cloud-based integration functions (AWS Lambda / GCP Cloud Functions)
- ▹Ability to effectively leverage AI coding tools
- ▹Familiarity with ERP, CRM, marketing automation, data analytics and business intelligence systems
