Companies are staying private longer and reaching a scale once reserved for the public markets. That changes what a well-balanced investment portfolio looks like, and we want you to build the research that shows investors how. Put simply, you'll help shape a new era in equity investing. Clarity has transacted more than $6B in private company stock since launching in 2023. Your work will explain how the private markets have performed and how investors can use those insights to shape their portfolios going forward. Using Clarity's proprietary data and third-party research, you'll produce data and write insights for company reports, sector reports, market intelligence, and a monthly newsletter. You'll also own two of these content types from the first data pull to the final published copy, with real autonomy and room to grow as our marketing team scales. In this role, your responsibilities would include: Owning our Liquidity Thesis series: researching, writing, and updating in-depth reports on the pre-IPO companies investors watch most closely. Turning Clarity's trading data into market intelligence on trading activity, liquidity, market depth, investor participation, and price movement. Building the data and the story behind our annual and quarterly reports on the largest private U.S. companies, including the ones that make the jump to the public markets. Synthesizing third-party research on how institutions, family offices, advisors, and ultra-high-net-worth investors approach private markets. Researching and writing a monthly investor newsletter. Required Skills: At least four years of experience sourcing, cleaning, and analyzing data, and turning it into clear narratives. Rigorous sourcing habits. You can separate reported facts from company claims and verify statements with a source. Professional experience writing about business, finance, or investing, ideally as a journalist, analyst, researcher, or in-house writer. Examples of published writing on business, financial, or investing topics. The ability to manage several deadlines at once, including weekly company reports, monthly newsletters, and quarterly research. The ability to manipulate data in Excel and data analytics tools such as Omni, Posthog, or others. Working proficiency in AI. Preferred Skills: Knowledge of private markets or secondary markets, including a working understanding of pre-IPO companies, venture capital, tender offers, and SPVs. Experience at a business or finance publication, research firm, or fintech, such as a reporter, equity research associate, or venture analyst role. Clear, precise writing that makes complex topics readable without making them promotional. Proficiency with financial data tools such as PitchBook, Crunchbase, CB Insights, and Alphasense. Experience producing content in a regulated environment and working with compliance reviewers. Experience writing about institutional investors, family offices, wealth advisors, or high-net-worth investing. Compensation: Highly competitive compensation commensurate with experience and contribution. Vancouver, BC: $100,000 - $130,000 For this role, the estimated total compensation range is listed above. The actual base salary, variable bonus (if applicable), and options grant will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process.
