Werkstudent IoT-Engineer Batteriezellfertigung (w/m/x)

A working-student role on BMW Group's battery cell manufacturing pilot line, contributing to IoT-based data collection and analysis to improve production processes.

Responsibilities

  • Support technologists in defining relevant process parameters
  • Contribute to structuring the process data of the manufacturing equipment
  • Help conceptualize the data transmission logic
  • Support the modeling of communication interfaces (OPC UA) for manufacturing equipment
  • Participate in data validation, plausibility checks and data cleaning

Requirements

  • Studies in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, (business) informatics, natural sciences or a comparable field
  • Interest in innovative IT topics at the intersection of process engineering, mechanical engineering, IoT and data analytics
  • Confident PLC programming skills (IEC 61131-3), Siemens TIA Portal (SIMATIC STEP 7)
  • Very good German and good English

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of OPC UA data modeling (SiOME) and E-Plan
  • Prior knowledge of SQL, Python, BI tools and data analytics
