Data Governance Specialist – Data Quality & Metadata Management

Maintain and develop the company-wide data catalog, manage data quality and metadata at a company with system-critical energy infrastructure in Pulheim, on a project with a minimum duration of 18 months.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and further develop the company-wide data catalog, ensuring transparent, traceable metadata for master and transactional data
  • Structure documentation and quality assurance of metadata to create a reliable basis for data-driven decisions
  • Analyze data requirements in close collaboration with various business units
  • Document compliance with data governance guidelines and support their further development
  • Identify data quality issues, analyze root causes, and initiate suitable optimization measures at data, process, and technology level
  • Independently coordinate and track these measures

Requirements

  • Degree in business informatics, computer science, statistics, business administration, data management, or a comparable qualification
  • Initial to several years of experience in data management, data governance, or as a data steward
  • Good understanding of data models, data flows, and basic data architectures
  • Structured way of working with a strong affinity for data quality and process optimization
  • Very good German and good English skills, written and spoken
