Staff Software Engineer, Supply Chain Management Technology (all genders)
As a Staff Engineer in HelloFresh's Supply Chain Management organization, you will define, secure, and implement technical solutions for business problems as the systems scale from 1.2 million to over 2.4 million produced boxes per week. You will assume technical leadership within a tribe, own the most challenging tech decisions, and work with neighboring teams toward clearer architecture and boundaries. A significant part of the role is orchestrating AI code generation and guiding AI coding agents. The role does not include people management responsibilities and reports to the Director of Engineering in the Production tribe.
Responsibilities
- ▹Assume technical leadership within a tribe and own the most challenging tech decisions across architecture, design, development, deployment, and operational excellence
- ▹Support teams in architectural design and help maintain architectural integrity within the tribe and beyond
- ▹Orchestrate code generation: guide AI coding agents, rigorously review their implementations, and refine logic based on organization needs
- ▹Solve software problems with visible risks, roadblocks, and constraints across roughly 70% greenfield and 30% legacy systems
- ▹Manage dependencies, data quality, compliance, and architectural transformations
- ▹Mentor more junior engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning
Requirements
- ▹Ideally 10+ years of engineering experience, including 2+ years at a staff/principal level and technical leadership
- ▹Strong capability working with different stakeholders and addressing physical-world problems with software
- ▹Full-stack proficiency (e.g., C#, Python, Golang, and modern frontend technologies)
- ▹Hands-on experience leveraging AI coding agents (Cursor, Copilot, Claude Code) in production, mastering context engineering, workflow decomposition, and guardrails for reliable agent outputs
- ▹Expertise in designing and implementing modular systems, including synchronous/asynchronous communication
- ▹Team-player attitude and passion for helping others grow through mentoring and knowledge sharing
- ▹Advocacy for best engineering practices such as CI/CD, TDD, BDD, DDD, and Design Patterns
- ▹An agile mindset and strong communication skills

- ▹Experience with data engineering fundamentals including data modeling, governance, quality assurance, and data processing and storage systems
