Senior Data Scientist, Risk and Fraud Management, Growth Alliance
As a Senior Data Scientist in HelloFresh's Risk and Fraud Management squad in Warsaw, you will build, deploy, and maintain machine learning models that protect the company from fraud while enabling growth through intelligent risk assessment. Your work prevents payment and voucher fraud at checkout and optimizes the ship & collect process for recurring customers, powering both real-time predictions and offline batch inference. The role has a direct impact on revenue protection and customer experience.
Responsibilities
- ▹Work on fraud detection and risk assessment models from data collection to production, collaborating with engineering, product, finance, and operations
- ▹Build, deploy, and maintain ML models for Ship & Collect (offline batch inference for recurring payment risk)
- ▹Build real-time voucher fraud prevention models to detect and prevent voucher abuse at checkout
- ▹Build real-time payment fraud prevention models to detect and block fraudulent payment attempts
- ▹Monitor model performance, detect anomalies, and communicate insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- ▹Leverage classification, regression, and uplift methodologies to continuously improve solutions
- ▹Use Generative AI tools to accelerate development, improve code quality, and drive innovative solutions
Requirements
- ▹Bachelors, Masters or PhD in statistics, physics, economics, mathematics, computer science, data science or similar
- ▹3+ years as a (senior) data scientist, preferably in e-commerce, fintech, or fraud detection
- ▹Strong experience with classification and regression models
- ▹Fluency in Python (Numpy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, XGBoost, LightGBM) and experience with Spark/PySpark, Databricks
- ▹Experience with AWS services (SageMaker) and workflow orchestration (Airflow/Prefect)
- ▹In-depth knowledge of handling imbalanced datasets and optimizing precision/recall trade-offs
- ▹Experience with real-time model inference, A/B testing, and measuring business impact
- ▹Familiarity with software development practices (Git, Docker, CI/CD)
- ▹Strong communication and collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Nice to have
- ▹Familiarity with uplift modeling
- ▹Experience with feature stores (Tecton)
