Thesis project: camera-based driver monitoring and driver assistance in warehouse trucks

Toyota Material Handling is looking for thesis students to explore future driver assistance systems by combining AI, camera technology, human-machine interaction and ergonomics. The work can focus on software development and AI algorithms, or be an ergonomics and function evaluation study.

Responsibilities

  • ▹Evaluate how cameras can identify distraction and mobile phone use while driving
  • ▹Investigate the possibility of monitoring the driver's position and safety behavior
  • ▹Study how AI-based driver monitoring can improve safety, ergonomics and productivity
  • ▹Develop or evaluate concepts for driver identification and intelligent support functions
  • ▹Examine which functions give the greatest benefit to drivers and companies and how they can be implemented in future warehouse trucks

Requirements

  • ▹Students of Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechatronics, Engineering Physics or Industrial Design (civilingenjör), or Data or Electrical Engineering at bachelor level (högskoleingenjör)
  • ▹Master's or bachelor's in ergonomics, cognitive science or HCI/HMI
  • ▹Scope: 1-2 people, 15-30 credits
