Research Intern – AI Tool for Mechanical Engineering (February 2027)

Responsibilities

• ▹Map the engineering workflow: 3D modelling, technical drawing creation, BOM generation, cost-price calculations, requirements specification, testing, validation and simulations
• ▹Identify which engineering activities could be automated or enhanced with AI and assess their potential impact
• ▹Research existing AI tools, technologies and approaches and evaluate their capabilities and limitations
• ▹Select promising applications and translate them into clear, practical use cases based on business and engineering requirements
• ▹Develop proofs of concept that prototype the selected AI applications
• ▹Assess the accuracy, reliability, efficiency and practical applicability of AI solutions in a professional engineering environment
• ▹Translate findings into concrete recommendations for integrating AI into the mechanical engineering workflow

Requirements

• ▹Currently studying Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design Engineering, Artificial Intelligence or a related field
• ▹Strong interest in AI and its practical applications in engineering
• ▹Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• ▹Strong communication skills and ability to present findings clearly
• ▹Proactive and independent working style
• ▹Comfortable exploring new technologies and translating research into practical solutions
• ▹Available to work at least 3 days per week from the office
