Senior Data & AI Governance Specialist

Responsibilities

• ▹Evolve Xero's privacy, data and AI governance frameworks to enable rapid, responsible data use and AI adoption
• ▹Translate governance policies and requirements into practical, user-friendly guidance and support adoption
• ▹Deliver literacy programmes and tailored educational resources on data and AI
• ▹Work with Regulatory, Privacy and Risk functions to keep ahead of evolving legislation
• ▹Advise decision-makers on where to set governance guardrails

Requirements

• ▹Deep knowledge of data governance frameworks and practices (stewardship models, governance forums, data catalogues, data quality platforms)
• ▹Recent hands-on AI governance experience, including ethical, regulatory and operational challenges of responsible AI
• ▹Experience working with engineers, with technical depth in data architecture, quality and lineage
• ▹Ability to turn complex regulatory requirements into clear guidance
