Senior Software Engineer - Virtual Card Services

Stack

Responsibilities

• ▹Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and enhance highly scalable applications supporting the Virtual Card Services platform
• ▹Build and maintain cloud-native applications using Java, Spring Boot and PCF (Pivotal Cloud Foundry)
• ▹Take part in end-to-end software development, from requirements analysis and technical design to implementation, testing, deployment and production support
• ▹Contribute to data migration initiatives during platform modernization, ensuring data integrity and performance
• ▹Support and drive release management: deployment planning, validation, production readiness and post-release monitoring
• ▹Develop automated and manual test cases to ensure software quality, reliability and security
• ▹Collaborate with product owners, architects, engineers and cross-functional teams
• ▹Manage project priorities, timelines and deliverables while balancing technical debt, platform stability and new features
• ▹Participate in Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, story refinement, estimation, daily standups, reviews and retrospectives
• ▹Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis and implement sustainable solutions
• ▹Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices and code quality standards

Requirements

• ▹Strong experience developing enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot and related frameworks
• ▹Proven experience building and supporting RESTful and SOAP-based web services, APIs, microservices and distributed systems at scale
• ▹Hands-on experience with JSON and XML message formats, service integration patterns and API design best practices
• ▹Hands-on experience deploying and managing web service applications on PCF (Pivotal Cloud Foundry) or similar cloud platforms
• ▹Experience with data migration projects: data transformation, validation, reconciliation and implementation planning
• ▹Knowledge of software release processes and experience supporting release management across development and production environments
• ▹Experience designing and executing automated and manual test cases, with a focus on software quality and test automation
• ▹Solid understanding of software engineering best practices, including code reviews, CI/CD, secure coding and observability
• ▹Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and contributing to technical discussions and architecture reviews
• ▹Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• ▹Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• ▹Experience working with geographically distributed teams in a matrix organization
• ▹Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Engineering or equivalent practical experience

Nice to have

• ▹Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
• ▹Familiarity with cloud-native architecture, containerization and modern CI/CD pipelines
• ▹Experience in payment processing, commercial payments, virtual card or financial services domains
• ▹Exposure to event-driven architectures, messaging platforms and distributed system design
