Mid Java GenAI Developer (contract)

Stack

Responsibilities

• ▹Design, develop and maintain scalable, high-performance Java-based applications and services
• ▹Develop REST APIs and microservices while meeting security, reliability and performance standards
• ▹Build and support distributed systems using modern architecture principles, including containerisation and orchestration technologies
• ▹Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end software solutions in an Agile/Scrum environment
• ▹Contribute to system design, code reviews, troubleshooting, performance optimisation and production support
• ▹Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks and software development best practices
• ▹Monitor application performance, analyse logs and triage issues using monitoring tools
• ▹Ensure high-quality code delivery through unit testing, code quality checks and adherence to coding standards
• ▹Use AI-powered development tools to improve productivity and accelerate development
• ▹Take ownership of deliverables and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the development lifecycle

Requirements

• ▹At least 5 years of overall experience in a Java-related tech stack
• ▹Proficiency in Java/J2EE/REST technologies and frameworks such as Spring, Spring MVC, JPA, Hibernate
• ▹Experience in API development for producers and consumers, adhering to security and reliability standards
• ▹Experience with databases such as Oracle, MySQL and any NoSQL
• ▹Experience with microservice architecture and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker etc.)
• ▹Experience in software configuration management with development tools and automation (Git, Maven, Artifactory, Jenkins, CI/CD etc.)
• ▹Experience with logging tools such as Splunk, Humio etc. for monitoring and issue triage
• ▹Ability to write clean, coherent code following established coding guidelines
• ▹Experience developing in an Agile/Scrum team
• ▹Experience developing with AI tools such as Claude, Cline or any other AI tool
• ▹Passion for delivering zero-defect code that meets or exceeds the defect SLA, with a high sense of accountability for the quality and timeliness of deliverables
