Innovation Internship: Software Engineering / Fullstack Engineer

Responsibilities

• ▹Gather and formalise the needs of R&D users and translate them into features
• ▹Develop backend microservices in Python / FastAPI following a hexagonal architecture, with PostgreSQL persistence
• ▹Design and document REST APIs and the related authentication and authorisation mechanisms (OAuth2 / OpenID Connect)
• ▹Build user and admin interfaces in React (TypeScript, CSS)
• ▹Containerise and orchestrate everything with Docker and docker-compose, and contribute to deployment on Azure and CI/CD automation
• ▹Produce documentation, quick-start guides and reference examples for self-service adoption
• ▹Design and present framework demos to R&D teams, support pilot users on a first use case and collect their feedback in a structured way
• ▹Track adoption indicators (integrated projects, features actually used, friction points) and derive evolution priorities
• ▹Take part in technical choices and good software practices: testing, code quality, documentation
• ▹Aggregate and display geographic data
• ▹Work on an Angular frontend, a .NET/Python backend and a PostgreSQL/PostGIS database
• ▹Understand the needs of a team working on Artificial Intelligence methods
• ▹Implement features matching the AI team's analysis and visualisation needs
• ▹Ensure display performance scales in large-scale geographic simulation scenarios
• ▹Propose solutions to reduce data transfer

Requirements

• ▹Final-year engineering school student looking for an end-of-studies internship, specialising in Computer Science / Software Engineering
• ▹Knowledge of front and back-end web development and command of several of these technologies: Python, Angular, FastAPI (or Flask/Django), React, TypeScript, HTML/CSS, REST API, JSON, SQL and NoSQL
• ▹Comfortable with Git, Docker and microservice architectures, and has applied them during studies

Nice to have

• ▹Cloud experience (Azure preferred)
• ▹AI knowledge (LLM, NLP, RAG, agents)
