SQA Engineer – Fixed Term

Thermo Fisher Scientific in Brno is looking for a Software Quality Assurance Engineer for the Sample Prep and Analysis group, which develops software that automates Scanning Electron Microscopes (SEMs) for semiconductor customers. Standard Mon-Fri schedule, office job.

Responsibilities

  • ▹Participate in all phases of the product development cycle as an SQA engineer
  • ▹Support the agile team in collaboration and problem solving so it can deliver high-quality, innovative software on time
  • ▹Develop and sustain relationships with vendors and joint development partners that support the team's development activities
  • ▹Guard the software quality, development processes and their implementation in the organisation
  • ▹Verify accurate functionality of product features
  • ▹Verify bug fixes
  • ▹Maintain test scenario documentation
  • ▹Prepare SQA recommendation reports
  • ▹Identify risks during execution and help with their mitigation
  • ▹Design and execute test strategies, develop and maintain automated tests
  • ▹Apply modern quality engineering practices, test automation and AI-assisted testing approaches

Requirements

  • ▹Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field
  • ▹3+ years in agile software development
  • ▹Experience with the software development process
  • ▹Python expertise
  • ▹Experience with API testing, including RESTful services and tools such as Swagger / OpenAPI
  • ▹Solid understanding of general web application testing principles (functional, regression, exploratory)
  • ▹Practical knowledge of at least one web automation framework or test driver, such as Playwright, Selenium or Cypress
  • ▹Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • ▹Ability to use data and metrics to identify and address problems and drive continuous improvement
  • ▹Focus on quality and robustness
  • ▹Desire to work in an international, diverse, multi-disciplinary R&D team
  • ▹Strong desire for continuous learning and a love of science
  • ▹Desire to learn how to work with high-end hardware equipment
