Senior Software Developer in CI

Stack

Responsibilities

• ▹Own and evolve the Bazel setup across several concurrently maintained product versions
• ▹Drive hermeticity, sensible dependency boundaries and toolchain management, and plan migrations that do not block developers
• ▹Measure and specifically reduce build and test times (remote caching and execution, cache hit rates, good pipeline architecture)
• ▹Automation and developer experience: from build and release tooling to diagnostics that let a developer understand a failure on their own
• ▹Work closely with the product teams using the platform, QA and the rest of the CI team, turning their pain points into a technical roadmap

Requirements

• ▹Solid experience with Bazel (especially Platform, Toolchains, Rules) and openness to new technologies
• ▹Experience, some background or openness in (Python) programming
• ▹Knowledge of the Linux command line to navigate and troubleshoot efficiently
• ▹Interest in working in an open source environment
• ▹Strong background in CI/CD pipelines and the ability to design build systems (e.g. Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
• ▹Solid scripting and automation skills (Python and Bash)
• ▹Understanding of dependency management, caching and distributed builds
• ▹Familiarity with containerization (Docker)
• ▹Proactive mindset, strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work across teams
• ▹Fluent communication in English

Nice to have

• ▹Experience with monorepos and managing large codebases
