Senior Software Engineer, Backend

Stack

Responsibilities

• ▹Design and implement high-performance Elixir/Phoenix systems such as the Document Engine and Web Services API
• ▹Design and build declarative, observable and maintainable infrastructure (Terraform, Terramate, FluxCD, Kubernetes, Helm)
• ▹Operate and evolve the managed cloud platform: cluster lifecycle and upgrades, GitOps, observability, database operations
• ▹Share ownership of architecture, tools and services and contribute to product development
• ▹Work closely with a small remote-first engineering team to ship features and debug hard problems
• ▹Meet the team in person periodically

Requirements

• ▹Experience with backend services and distributed systems
• ▹Track record running production workloads on Kubernetes and public cloud (AWS), ideally with infrastructure-as-code and GitOps
• ▹Strong coding skills; Elixir experience is not required
• ▹Pragmatic approach to code: clean architecture, but knowing when good enough is right
• ▹Culture of direct feedback: speak up when something is wrong and take feedback well
