Intelligent Automation Engineer - Contractor

Stack

Responsibilities

• ▹Design and build browser automations for government agency portals (scraping, form fill, filing submission) using Browserbase or comparable frameworks
• ▹Use Claude Code as the primary environment for agentic coding of automations
• ▹Author automation specs with OpenSpec before implementation
• ▹Migrate and refactor existing RPA-based (Python/RPA) workflows to the agentic stack
• ▹Integrate with internal and third-party APIs
• ▹Take part in two-week sprints (planning, standups, refinement, demos, retros), tracking work in Jira
• ▹Troubleshoot production issues in live automations (CAPTCHA, bot detection, portal changes, filing failures)
• ▹Document completed automations and work with product, data and ops stakeholders

Requirements

• ▹Hands-on experience with Claude Code or a comparable agentic/AI-assisted coding tool
• ▹Experience with Browserbase or a comparable web automation framework (Playwright, Puppeteer, Selenium)
• ▹Prior experience with RPA tools (UiPath, Fortra Automate) and/or Python-based web automation
• ▹Working knowledge of REST APIs
• ▹Experience using Jira in a Scrum/Agile team
• ▹Strong debugging and problem-solving skills for brittle, change-prone web targets, with attention to detail and clear communication

Nice to have

• ▹Experience using OpenSpec or a comparable spec-driven approach
• ▹Experience contributing to a migration from legacy RPA to agentic AI automation
• ▹Familiarity with compliance, legal or regulatory filing domains, and/or SQL (MySQL/MSSQL)
