Senior Software Engineer, Core Experiences (Contract)

Responsibilities

• ▹Deliver medium-complexity initiatives from technical discovery to delivery: break down work, estimate, manage scope and identify risks early
• ▹Build mobile Wikipedia product experiences for a global, multilingual audience with accessible, reusable components
• ▹Create RESTful APIs from schema and contract design through monitoring, with simple, scalable data pipelines for mobile and web clients
• ▹Build software that is easy to test, observe and debug, with instrumentation for Product Analysts
• ▹Partner with product managers, designers, analysts and native app engineers
• ▹Create handoffs between web and app, such as a personalized reading list in the app or a game running as a webview
• ▹Follow team standards in code review, technical design, testing, documentation and accessibility

Requirements

• ▹Senior-level full stack web engineering experience
• ▹Experience designing and operating RESTful APIs
• ▹Experience building accessible, scalable frontend components
• ▹Clear communication with engineering, product and non-technical audiences, synchronously and asynchronously
• ▹High autonomy within and across teams
• ▹At least four hours of the workday must fall between 15:00 and 21:00 UTC
