Senior Software Engineer - Java/Kotlin (x/f/m)
Doctolib is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Patient Online Booking feature team in the Patient Health Platform domain. The team is responsible for enhancing the booking experience for 90 million patients, with over 300 million appointments expected to be booked this year. You will take a leading role in one of France's most downloaded apps, working primarily on the backend with Java and Ruby on Rails. The position is permanent, full-time, based in Levallois-Perret with a hybrid setup of 3 office days per week.
Responsibilities
- ▹Collaborate with product managers, designers and other engineers to define and implement features that improve healthcare access for patients
- ▹Take a leading role within the team and contribute to a technical vision ensuring performance, security, usability and high scalability
- ▹Help continuously improve how the team designs, implements, tests and monitors high-quality features
- ▹Improve the performance of key features implemented in Java and Ruby on Rails, sometimes completely challenging the status quo
- ▹Take leadership on delivering roadmap items together with the team
- ▹Contribute to establishing a technical vision and co-drive the creation of the roadmap for the next quarters
Requirements
- ▹Primarily a backend engineer with expert knowledge of Java and good knowledge of Ruby on Rails (or similar frameworks)
- ▹Solid understanding of web technologies and the software development life cycle
- ▹A 'user first' mindset focused on bringing value to users through secure, well-tested and pragmatic code
- ▹Embrace AI-augmented engineering, using AI coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, etc.) to boost productivity and help the team adopt these practices
- ▹Fluent English
