System Engineer – Managed Kubernetes

Responsibilities

• ▹Automate deployment, management, patching and deletion of Kubernetes clusters across Leaseweb's compute offerings
• ▹Architect, evaluate, integrate and tune Kubernetes components, advising on best practices
• ▹Build and tune monitoring, alerting and logging using SRE principles
• ▹Maintain the platform: deploy new Kubernetes versions, update components, keep them secure
• ▹Investigate production issues, troubleshoot, contribute to runbooks and create permanent fixes
• ▹Help design new features for customers
• ▹Support customers and development teams, participate in on-call duty (Engineer on Duty)
• ▹Share Kubernetes expertise with other teams, mentor colleagues
• ▹Align the team's solutions with the department's architecture standards

Requirements

• ▹Hands-on experience operating Kubernetes at scale across multiple clusters and environments
• ▹Good knowledge of the CNCF and Kubernetes ecosystem, able to compare technology choices and tradeoffs
• ▹Mastery of ArgoCD or a similar GitOps tool, solid understanding of GitOps, SRE and DevOps principles
• ▹Demonstrable knowledge of Kubernetes internals, components, networking and storage fundamentals
• ▹Experience architecting and operating cloud-native systems
