Responsibilities

• ▹Manage IBM Power Systems infrastructure: Power servers, HMC, VIOS, LPARs and PowerVM virtualization
• ▹Plan and execute IBM i OS upgrades, PTF maintenance and security updates
• ▹Lead infrastructure modernization, migrations, hardware refreshes and platform upgrades
• ▹Perform root cause analysis for incidents and resolve recurring issues permanently
• ▹Design and implement disaster recovery, backup and high availability solutions, including PowerHA and replication
• ▹Own IBM Power and IBM i configuration for SAN-connected environments and coordinate with SAN and storage teams
• ▹Support security compliance, audits, access management, certificate administration and hardening
• ▹Define monitoring strategies, improve operational tooling and drive automation
• ▹Plan capacity, performance and resource utilization for business-critical systems
• ▹Support enterprise backup and recovery (BRMS, tape, VTL, DataDomain)
• ▹Support software entitlement and license-key readiness for hardware migrations

Requirements

• ▹Strong experience administering IBM i (AS/400, iSeries) in medium to large enterprises
• ▹Solid knowledge of IBM Power Systems architecture and infrastructure
• ▹Hands-on experience with HMC administration, VIOS management and PowerVM virtualization
• ▹Experience planning and executing IBM i OS upgrades and PTF maintenance
• ▹Lifecycle maintenance across IBM Power servers, firmware, HMC, VIOS and IBM i
• ▹Strong troubleshooting across operating system, infrastructure and storage layers
• ▹Experience with IPC management processes
• ▹Knowledge of backup and recovery concepts, BRMS and disaster recovery
• ▹Experience with SAN-connected IBM Power environments
• ▹Understanding of IBM i security, user management, system values, auditing and compliance
• ▹Experience with high availability and replication technologies
• ▹Ability to perform root cause analysis and lead technical investigations
• ▹Communication skills and ability to work directly with customers and vendors

• ▹PowerHA, MIMIX, iCluster or other IBM i replication technologies
• ▹Enterprise storage platforms such as Dell EMC, Hitachi or HP
• ▹DataDomain, ProtecTIER, LaserVault, VTL or tape-based backup infrastructures
• ▹Monitoring platforms and custom monitoring development
• ▹CL, SQL, RPG or other IBM i automation technologies
• ▹Building automation scripts and operational tooling
• ▹Infrastructure migrations, datacenter relocations and platform modernization programs
• ▹IBM Power Systems and IBM i certifications
