Senior Data Engineer

Stack

Responsibilities

• ▹Design, develop, and optimize robust data pipelines, making data easily accessible for visualization and machine learning
• ▹Work with cloud-based platforms and big data processing tools to create scalable and efficient solutions
• ▹Work closely with data scientists, ML engineers, and analysts in an agile environment
• ▹Integrate best-in-class data solutions using Google Cloud Platform, dbt, and Looker
• ▹Architect, maintain, and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure for high availability and performance
• ▹Lead and mentor engineers, supporting their development and ensuring data engineering best practices

Requirements

• ▹Strong programming skills in Python and/or Java, with proficiency in SQL
• ▹5+ years of experience designing and building scalable data solutions
• ▹Hands-on experience with ETL tools, Hadoop-based technologies (e.g., Spark), and data processing frameworks like Beam or Flink
• ▹Ability to write tested, resilient, and well-documented code
• ▹Experience building and maintaining cloud infrastructure (GCP or AWS is a plus)
• ▹Ability to take ownership and drive projects from concept to completion
• ▹Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• ▹Experience in line management and mentoring engineers

Nice to have

• ▹Start-up or scale-up experience
• ▹Love for the command line and experience with Linux scripting
• ▹Experience building scalable REST APIs using Python or similar technologies
• ▹Knowledge of machine learning, data mining, statistics, and visualization
• ▹Prior experience in a client-facing position
• ▹Experience contributing to open-source projects
