Responsibilities

  • ▹Design and evolve AWS-based infrastructure using Terraform and ArgoCD
  • ▹Own the cross-cluster Istio service mesh, implementing policies and improving traffic management
  • ▹Take ownership of the performance and scaling of Confluent Kafka deployments
  • ▹Monitor, optimise and automate systems using Datadog, Opsgenie and AI-powered tooling
  • ▹Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and promote engineering excellence

Requirements

  • ▹5+ years of hands-on experience building and managing AWS infrastructure (EC2, VPC, IAM, RDS, KMS)
  • ▹Strong expertise in Docker, Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation)
  • ▹3+ years optimizing cluster-level Kafka deployments or cloud relational/NoSQL databases in AWS
  • ▹Advanced understanding of cloud networking including routing, load balancing, VPC design and service mesh

Nice to have

  • ▹Experience with Confluent Kafka
  • ▹Familiarity with multi-cluster service-mesh networking
