Responsibilities

• ▹Build and maintain monitoring, alerting and targets for availability and response times.
• ▹Automate operations: deployments, updates, backups and recovery via Infrastructure as Code and pipelines.
• ▹Resolve incidents in a structured way: contain, fix, document root causes and prevent recurrence.
• ▹Continuously track patches, dependencies, access rights and data protection requirements.
• ▹Make cloud costs transparent and plan capacity for growth.
• ▹Keep the learning platform stable and up to date together with the external provider.
• ▹Speed up log analysis, runbooks and recurring operational tasks with AI tools.
• ▹Collaborate with the Builder and Sweeper roles on handovers and share operational knowledge across the team.

Requirements

• ▹Completed studies in a technical field such as computer science, engineering or IT.
• ▹Experience operating web applications in cloud environments (AWS, GCP or Azure).
• ▹Knowledge of containers, CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code, e.g. Docker, GitHub Actions, Terraform.
• ▹Solid grasp of monitoring and observability, e.g. Grafana, Prometheus, Sentry or uptime monitoring.
• ▹Linux knowledge plus networking and database operations basics, including backups.
• ▹Scripting or development skills, e.g. Python, Bash or TypeScript.
• ▹Calm, systematic troubleshooting and a sense of ownership for live systems.
• ▹Very good German (spoken and written) and good English.

Nice to have

• ▹Experience with PHP and Moodle environments.
