N26 is hiring a Backend Engineer for its Investments team to help build a secure, real-time trading platform powering Crypto, Stocks, ETFs and Managed Funds. You'll operate at the intersection of high-speed trading and strict financial regulation, with true autonomy and ownership of delivery, primarily working in Kotlin.

Responsibilities

  • ▹Write high-quality, performant code (primarily Kotlin) and navigate the codebase fluently
  • ▹Handle deployment, bug fixing and incident handling with high independence
  • ▹Take features from concept to production
  • ▹Act as a sparring partner for Product Managers during Product Discovery
  • ▹Identify knowledge gaps and technical problems and take active ownership to address them

Requirements

  • ▹Proven experience taking features from concept to production with minimal supervision
  • ▹Strong proficiency in backend development, with Kotlin as the default
  • ▹Experience with distributed microservices and event-driven architecture (Kafka)
  • ▹Good understanding of cloud infrastructure and containerization (AWS, Kubernetes, Docker)
  • ▹Experience with observability and monitoring tools (Datadog, ELK/OpenSearch)
