Security Engineering Manager - Cybersecurity IAM (Hybrid, Bucharest)

Responsibilities

• ▹Build and lead the Romania Security Engineering team: hire with Talent Acquisition, onboard and grow careers
• ▹Own delivery of IAM features and platform capabilities against semi-annual and annual program goals
• ▹Foster a healthy team environment of accountability, debate, excellence and continuous improvement
• ▹Guide the team toward sound technical decisions in IAM architecture, access control design and security operations
• ▹Act as a technical contributor: design reviews, PR reviews, hands-on engagement with the team's work
• ▹Be the primary contact for cross-functional stakeholders, managing competing priorities and conflicts
• ▹Partner with Cybersecurity leadership to define team process, performance standards and engineering best practices
• ▹Support incident response and escalations

Requirements

• ▹5+ years of experience in IAM, security engineering, software engineering or a closely related technical discipline
• ▹2+ years of direct people management experience, including hiring, performance management and career development
• ▹Demonstrated IAM depth: cloud IAM services (e.g. AWS IAM, Azure Entra, GCP IAM), authentication protocols (SAML, OIDC, Kerberos), access provisioning concepts (zero trust, least privilege, just-in-time access)
• ▹Proven ability to lead teams through ambiguity in a fast-paced, distributed engineering environment
• ▹Strong cross-functional collaboration with engineering leads, product managers and senior stakeholders
• ▹Experience driving engineering best practices: documentation quality, code review culture, design standards, mature procedures
• ▹Excellent written and verbal communication for engineering and non-engineering audiences
• ▹Proven experience using AI technologies to enhance decision-making, workflows and efficiency

Nice to have

• ▹Experience building or scaling a new team or regional engineering hub
• ▹Scripting or automation (e.g. Python, Go, Bash) and infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform, Ansible)
• ▹Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g. NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR)
• ▹Multi-cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure, OCI) and cloud-native security architectures
• ▹Experience in a cybersecurity product company or enterprise security team
• ▹Managing distributed or remote-first engineering teams across time zones
