Senior C/C++ Engineer

Responsibilities

• ▹Design, implement and maintain performance-critical C/C++ components on Omilia's platform, with emphasis on performance, memory safety and concurrency correctness
• ▹Develop efficient applications for mission-critical systems with high availability
• ▹Debug complex, multi-threaded, low-level issues using tools such as gdb, valgrind and/or strace
• ▹Develop, extend and maintain custom Asterisk modules (res_, chan_, app_*) for call handling, recording and routing
• ▹Patch, rebuild and validate Asterisk core and third-party modules against security advisories and internal hardening requirements
• ▹Identify performance bottlenecks and suggest improvements
• ▹Develop with security in mind and scale services with a DevOps mindset
• ▹Resolve scalability and performance issues affecting telephony and SIP systems

Requirements

• ▹5+ years of professional experience in C/C++ systems programming (memory management, multithreading, low-level debugging)
• ▹Experience with Git and C/C++ build systems such as CMake or Meson
• ▹Hands-on experience modifying, compiling and deploying Asterisk
• ▹Experience writing APIs and/or web services and microservices in C/C++
• ▹Object-oriented analysis and design using common design patterns
• ▹Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
• ▹Very good written and oral communication skills in English
• ▹Ability to work under pressure and on strict deadlines

Nice to have

• ▹Knowledge of SIP (RFC 3261) and related RFCs (SDP, RTP/RTCP, STUN/TURN/ICE) and practical dialplan authoring experience
• ▹Experience with Java or Python
• ▹Familiarity with FreeSWITCH, Kamailio or OpenSIPS, WebRTC-to-SIP interworking, or call recording and audio codec architectures (G.711, G.729, Opus)
• ▹Experience in regulated environments (PCI-DSS, HIPAA) with call recording and redaction requirements
