Technical Support Engineer

Redis is hiring a Technical Support Engineer for its global customer technical support team at a pre-IPO unicorn. You will diagnose and resolve complex technical issues for name-brand customers using Redis Enterprise Software, a high-performance database used by thousands of customers worldwide. The role spans the full stack, from code through sysadmin work to networking and performance, and includes supporting Redis Enterprise on major cloud platforms and container orchestration platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues with customers, reproducing issues and replicating customer environments as needed
  • Document issues and contribute to internal team documentation
  • Collaborate with Engineering to provide solutions and deliver Root Cause Analysis
  • Analyze performance questions along the data path (including networks) for cloud and on-premises deployments
  • Provide technical expertise during testing, deployment and upgrading of Redis software
  • Manage critical customer issues, facilitating communication between customers, CloudOps, Engineering, Product, TAMs and Sales
  • Act as the customer advocate for timely issue resolution and handle escalations, helping customers maximize the value of their Redis subscription
  • Participate in new product development, customer training and other support-related activities

Requirements

  • At least five years of relevant experience in the enterprise software industry
  • Strong background in scripting or programming languages
  • Working knowledge of cloud-based and on-premise environments
  • Expert working knowledge of Linux/Unix and networking (TCP/IP)
  • Proficient written and verbal communication and presentation skills in English
  • Strong technical background with excellent problem-solving and multi-tasking skills
  • High availability and commitment to customers

Nice to have

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Information Systems
  • Experience with NoSQL databases (especially Redis)
  • Experience with container orchestration environments such as Kubernetes
