(Senior) Java Backend Developer - Remote First

Responsibilities

• ▹Help migrate existing systems to a Kubernetes-based private cloud
• ▹Re-engineer existing systems toward modern architectures
• ▹Coordinate closely with the software architect to implement business and technical requirements cleanly
• ▹Develop high-performance backend solutions within the Java ecosystem
• ▹Integrate messaging systems and databases
• ▹Drive structured system rebuilding during live operation with a clear target picture, not just feature work

Requirements

• ▹Several years of Java experience (ideally 5+)
• ▹Java 17-25, Jakarta EE (JPA/Hibernate, JMS, REST/web services)
• ▹Experience with relational databases (Oracle ideal)
• ▹Messaging technologies (e.g. RabbitMQ)
• ▹Confident with IntelliJ, Git, Jira and Confluence
• ▹German language skills at C1 level

Nice to have

• ▹Knowledge of Kubernetes, Helm, Quarkus and GraalVM, PostgreSQL, NoSQL
• ▹Knowledge of React and TypeScript
• ▹Experience with Jenkins and Groovy
• ▹Security know-how (certificates, encryption)
