Responsibilities

• ▹Develop responsive, functional web applications for research and innovative projects, with emphasis on frontend (React, Vue or Angular) and backend (Node.js, Python, PHP or Java)
• ▹Take part in platform design: work with UI/UX designers and system architects on user-centric, scalable and secure interfaces and application architecture
• ▹Integrate RESTful APIs, manage databases (SQL, NoSQL), users, roles and data flows between subsystems
• ▹Take part in R&D work: integrate data analysis, dashboards, AI/ML flows and interactive features (maps, charts, widgets) into research prototypes
• ▹Help set up the development environment, use Git for versioning and deploy to staging and production (Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms)
• ▹Write code documentation, user manuals and installation guides, and support project deliverables related to frontend/backend development

Requirements

• ▹Degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related field
• ▹At least 2-4 years of experience in web application development (frontend or full stack)
• ▹Experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and at least one modern framework (React, Angular, Vue)
• ▹Backend experience with Node.js, Python, PHP or Java
• ▹Good knowledge of RESTful APIs and databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
• ▹Familiarity with Git and agile environments (Jira, Scrum)
• ▹Documentation and communication skills with technical and non-technical teams

Nice to have

• ▹Experience in EU- or Greek-funded projects
• ▹Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Docker or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
• ▹Knowledge of or interest in web accessibility (WCAG) and security best practices
