Responsibilities

• ▹Maintain and extend the foundational technologies behind InfluxData's time series platform
• ▹Design, implement and operate large-scale, multi-cloud, GitOps-driven Kubernetes infrastructure
• ▹Take part in a low-volume pager rotation
• ▹Serve as a subject matter expert on Kubernetes and general infrastructure and operational principles
• ▹Collaborate across multiple engineering teams

Requirements

• ▹Production-level experience with Kubernetes and its ecosystem (e.g. Istio, Vault and other Cloud Native technologies)
• ▹Terraform and other automation tooling: automating manual processes or refining automated ones
• ▹Hands-on experience with production workloads on managed and self-managed Kubernetes platforms and general DevOps patterns (compute, storage, database, network) in AWS, Google and Azure
• ▹Vocal participation in the team, focused on iterative excellence
• ▹Methodical troubleshooting, individually and as part of a team

Nice to have

• ▹Experience maintaining and operating a SaaS environment
• ▹Experience as an incident commander, engaging multiple groups to resolve critical problems
• ▹CI/CD experience (the company uses CircleCI and GitHub Actions, but understanding the methodology matters more than the vendors)
• ▹Success in automating processes
• ▹Thriving in a remote-first, distributed team
• ▹Experience with applications written in Go and/or Rust
