BUSINESS ANALYST - DATA FACTORY

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a Business Analyst to join a strategic data transformation initiative focused on the design, development, and rollout of a Data Factory framework. In this role, you will collaborate closely with developers, data engineers, and product owners to analyse business requirements and translate them into functional specifications for a scalable data aggregation platform. You will contribute to the creation of a centralized data repository, ensuring data quality, consistency, and alignment between business needs and technological solutions within the banking and financial services environment.

What You Will Do on a Daily Basis

  • Gather and analyse requirements from business stakeholders, data owners, and regulatory teams.

  • Translate business needs into functional specifications, including user stories, acceptance criteria, and data model documentation.

  • Create and maintain project documentation such as requirements catalogues, data dictionaries, process maps, and test plans.

  • Collaborate with development teams to design data flows and transformation logic.

  • Support test planning activities and participate in the design of test cases.

  • Communicate project progress, outcomes, and key updates to stakeholders through reviews, status reports, and demonstrations.

  • Identify opportunities for framework improvements and propose enhancements.

  • Define, implement, and maintain data quality rules, validation checks, and governance standards.

Your Key Skills

  • Strong knowledge of the banking and financial sector.

  • Experience gathering, analysing, and documenting business requirements.

  • Experience working with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.

  • Knowledge of data migration, data aggregation, and large-scale data manipulation initiatives.

  • SQL development skills, preferably in Oracle environments.

  • Understanding of PL/SQL development.

  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional technical and business teams.

Your Main Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst in data-centric or banking-related projects.

  • Experience working in Agile environments.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Autonomous, organised, and delivery-focused mindset with strong attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.

  • High level of motivation, proactivity, and ownership.

  • Portuguese proficiency at a professional/native level.

  • English proficiency at an advanced level (minimum C level).

  • Knowledge of French is considered a plus.
