Senior Staff Platform Engineer

Responsibilities

• ▹Drive infrastructure automation for configuration management of 2,000+ VMs, dozens of Kubernetes clusters and 600+ on-premises servers, ensuring consistency across 120+ distributed Equinix data centers
• ▹Collaborate with global teams (AMER, EMEA and APAC) on security, networking and platform standards
• ▹Implement GitOps practices for deployments, drift management and the developer portal
• ▹Build and maintain strong relationships with internal customers and product stakeholders to design effective and scalable solutions
• ▹Work with technical project managers and product management teams to define and plan multiple projects
• ▹Participate in on-call shifts with clear processes and support

Requirements

• ▹Strong experience managing on-premises Kubernetes clusters at scale
• ▹Deep proficiency in Linux systems
• ▹Hands-on experience with Proxmox and/or VMware
• ▹Proficiency in virtualization and containerization (e.g. QEMU, KVM, LXC, Docker)
• ▹Experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet, Ansible or Chef
• ▹Familiarity with observability tools like Prometheus and Grafana
• ▹Proficiency with CI/CD tooling (e.g. ArgoCD, Argo Rollouts, GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
• ▹Familiarity with secrets management processes and tooling, such as HashiCorp Vault
• ▹Background in distributed systems

Nice to have

• ▹Experience with networking and routing
• ▹Experience with Kafka and ClickHouse
• ▹Ability and willingness to work with agile methodologies
