Software Engineer – Developer Experience

Responsibilities

• ▹Implement and maintain CI/CD systems and developer productivity solutions
• ▹Handle scheduled work and on-demand break-fix support for Dremio's CI/CD system
• ▹Identify areas of improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency
• ▹Work on infrastructure across major clouds (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• ▹Manage access to key infrastructure
• ▹Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and associated systems
• ▹Automate local development workflows
• ▹Analyze performance bottlenecks, root-cause issues, file defects, and document resolutions
• ▹Keep development branches 'green'
• ▹Automate release engineering processes to push software to delivery endpoints
• ▹Report on the status, reliability, and robustness of CI/CD systems
• ▹Actively participate in code reviews

Requirements

• ▹B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or a related technical field
• ▹1+ years of experience with large-scale distributed systems
• ▹Comfortable navigating the fast-moving, unstructured nature of a hyper-growth startup
• ▹Demonstrable knowledge and experience with at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• ▹Basic understanding of cloud networking and architecture
• ▹Proficiency in Java/C++/Python/Go
• ▹Knowledge of Maven or similar build environments
• ▹Hands-on pipeline automation experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins
• ▹Experience with Infrastructure as Code
• ▹Experience with Terraform, BASH, Docker, Jenkins, and Kubernetes
• ▹Ability to write clear technical reports summarizing key data
• ▹Passion for learning and delivering solutions with the latest technologies
• ▹Strong affinity for collaboration and teamwork

Nice to have

• ▹Working knowledge of data lakes and data warehousing
• ▹Proficiency with SQL
