Ookla, an Accenture company, is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to build tools and pipelines that support analysis of mobile and fixed internet performance data, using Redshift, Athena, Iceberg, Spark and Airflow.
Responsibilities
- ▹Develop high-volume data processing jobs (Redshift, Athena, Iceberg, Spark, Airflow)
- ▹Work closely with data scientists
- ▹Identify performance bottlenecks
- ▹Support data analysts and product managers
- ▹Mentor junior team members
Requirements
- ▹Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- ▹Knowledge of at least one OOP language (Python, Scala, Java)
- ▹3+ years of Python experience
- ▹High-volume distributed data processing in Spark
- ▹Strong SQL and database knowledge (MySQL/Redshift/Athena/Trino)
- ▹Excellent troubleshooting and analysis skills
Nice to have
- ▹AWS cloud services experience
- ▹Event-driven architecture and streaming pipeline experience
Soft skills
Strong communication in person and virtuallySelf-driven, strong time managementEagerness to learn new technologies
