Mozilla is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to improve the engineering workflow and CI systems that Firefox developers use daily to develop, build, test, and deliver products. The role focuses on reducing time spent testing and debugging test failures, increasing automation, and building data-driven dashboards. The team acts as a force-multiplier to enable Firefox developers to do their best work.

Responsibilities

  • ▹Improve Firefox development workflows to reduce testing and debugging time
  • ▹Increase integration and automation of workflows
  • ▹Work with a geographically-distributed development team
  • ▹Mentor team members and be mentored by senior members
  • ▹Provide code review and technical direction to other teams
  • ▹Analyze data, build dashboards, and identify trends in development workflows

Requirements

  • ▹Proven Python skills, including building services
  • ▹Front-end development experience including JavaScript proficiency
  • ▹Experience with Python frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, Django)
  • ▹Experience with cloud services (GCP, AWS) and REST
  • ▹Solid understanding of databases and SQL
  • ▹Experience with CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, CircleCI) and test harnesses
  • ▹Comfortable working cross-platform with at least 2 of: Windows, Linux, Mac, Android

Nice to have

  • ▹Deep understanding of version control systems
  • ▹Experience with containerization and continuous delivery, particularly Docker
  • ▹Experience with CI of large-scale projects
  • ▹Comfort with data analysis
