Senior Developer Advocate
Elastic, the Search AI Company, is looking for a Senior Developer Advocate to foster the Elastic community in EMEA, with a local focus on Amsterdam. The role centers on creating technical content about the Elastic Stack, speaking at conferences and meetups, and supporting the global developer community across forums, Slack, and social media. As part of the DevRel team, the advocate helps users succeed with Elasticsearch within the search and AI ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- ▹Foster the Elastic community in Europe (EMEA), with a local focus on Amsterdam
- ▹Create technical content around the Elastic Stack, such as code examples, talks, blog posts, videos, and demos
- ▹Speak at virtual and in-person events like conferences, meetups, and lunch & learn sessions in the Amsterdam area and across EMEA
- ▹Answer technical questions on Discuss, Slack, developer forums, social media, and at events
- ▹Review colleagues' content for technical accuracy
- ▹Contribute to Elastic and external repositories to improve integration with Elastic technologies
- ▹Help users be successful with Elastic's stack, solutions, and cloud offerings
Requirements
- ▹Strong technical background and experience in an engineering role
- ▹Demonstrated ability to create compelling content about technology, including speaking, writing, and demoing
- ▹Empathy for the community to help solve their issues and provide internal feedback to improve Elastic's products
- ▹Comfortable working with a highly distributed team
- ▹Experience working in self-organizing teams
- ▹Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English
Nice to have
- ▹Familiarity with and passion for the Elastic Stack
- ▹Proficiency in additional spoken or programming languages, such as Golang, Python, Java, or Rust
- ▹Production experience with complementary technologies, from Generative AI to Kubernetes
- ▹Past involvement in Elastic Community events as a speaker or organizer
- ▹Experience with open source software or commercial open source companies
