Senior GenAI Python Engineer

A GenAI Python Engineer role on Morgan Stanley's Non-Financial Risk AI Technology team, delivering scalable, governed GenAI and Agentic solutions across 1000+ developers and 11 departments. The role builds capabilities that empower developers across the full SDLC with AI-assisted coding, governance, and architecture support.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement scalable solutions primarily in Python and some Java within an Agile squad
  • Leverage Generative AI tools and coding assistants to enhance development velocity and quality
  • Collaborate with global teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions
  • Participate in Agile meetings and adapt to evolving regulatory and business requirements
  • Write comprehensive tests to ensure code reliability and maintainability
  • Learn and apply Morgan Stanley's proprietary frameworks and best practices

Requirements

  • 6+ years of development experience with 4+ years hands-on in Python
  • Solid Linux/Unix and shell scripting knowledge
  • Experience with GenAI coding assistants like Copilot (Agent mode, Skills)
  • Proficiency in RDBMS and NoSQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL and MongoDB
  • Experience with DevOps practices: CI/CD, containerization, observability tools
  • Ability to write thorough unit tests covering all major logic components

  • GenAI application development with LLM models
  • Agentic implementation experience
  • Integrating data into LLM context, MCP tools and infrastructure
  • A2A design experience
