As an Application Engineer within BlackRock's Aladdin Engineering group, you help build and support BlackRock's investment operating system, Aladdin, used by BlackRock and many external financial institutions. You contribute to a global, multi-asset trading platform, designing scalable software and solving technical problems in a multi-office environment. The role centers on strong Java engineering with modern front-end and distributed systems exposure.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- ▹B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
- ▹4+ years of relevant professional experience
- ▹Strong core Java with OOP principles and design patterns
- ▹Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Framework and Spring Boot
- ▹Experience with modern front-end frameworks (React, Vue.js or Angular)
- ▹Understanding of concurrent programming, distributed systems and relational databases
Nice to have
- ▹Scripting languages such as Python or Golang
- ▹Distributed systems with SQL/NoSQL (MS SQL, Sybase, in-memory stores)
- ▹Cloud-native design and event-driven microservices
- ▹High-scale technologies (real-time event streaming, MongoDB, Ignite)
