Sales Engineer, Enterprise

Sales Engineer (Solutions Architect) role on Zapier's Sales team, blending technical consulting, solution development, and direct sales collaboration. You partner with the team to develop the go-to-market strategy and close key Enterprise customer accounts, acting as a trusted advisor on automation and integration efforts. You navigate complex, multi-party sales, design joint integration architectures with customers' engineering teams, and serve as the primary conduit between go-to-market and Engineering. Zapier is an all-remote company; this role is open across the Americas.

Responsibilities

  • Take a consultative approach to understand customers' technical needs and pain points, presenting tailored solutions using Zapier's Enterprise Automation platform
  • Drive revenue by positioning Zapier as an integral part of customers' business strategy through value-driven proof-of-concepts, customized demos, and solution discussions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Product, and Customer Success to develop integration architectures and long-term adoption strategies
  • Advocate for customers and influence the product roadmap so Zapier's platform evolves to meet enterprise customer needs
  • Educate customers as a trusted advisor on automation workflows and consult with product and engineering leaders
  • Bring accounts to technical close by navigating complex, multi-party sales and designing joint integration architectures

Requirements

  • 5+ years in technical pre-sales at B2B SaaS companies or customer-facing technical consulting roles involving business-and-technical relationship management
  • Technical acumen: familiarity with core computing concepts, having implemented technical projects, comfortable getting into technical implementations and scoping customer requirements
  • Ability to advise architectural best practices to senior technical stakeholders and manage expectations relative to product capabilities
  • Consultative approach to understanding customer needs and providing innovative solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to quickly build and maintain senior-level relationships, establishing trust with business and technical teams
  • Adaptability and hands-on problem solving in dynamic, evolving environments
  • Cross-functional collaboration across Growth, Engineering, and Product from pre-sale to post-deployment
  • Data-driven approach using quantitative and qualitative data to craft impactful technical plans
  • Self-motivated, thriving in ambiguity
  • AI fluency: using AI as part of daily operation, with demonstrable workflows, iteration, and ownership of outputs
  • Proven success closing 6-figure software deals and maintaining relationships with senior stakeholders
