Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is seeking a System Software Engineer for a hybrid role (on average 2 days per week from an HPE office). The role designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for software enhancements and new products. Development spans operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases and Internet-related tools; the role also determines hardware compatibility and/or influences hardware design.
Responsibilities
- ▹Code and program enhancements, updates and changes for portions and subsystems of systems software (operating systems, compilers, networking, utilities, databases, Internet-related tools)
- ▹Execute established test plans and protocols for assigned portions of code; identify, log and debug assigned issues
- ▹Develop understanding of and relationships with internal and outsourced development partners on software systems design and development
- ▹Participate as a member of a project team with other software systems engineers and internal/outsourced partners to develop reliable, cost-effective and high-quality solutions for low to moderately complex products
Requirements
- ▹Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
- ▹Typically 2-3 years experience
- ▹Secure coding practices (Cyber Security)
- ▹C# / .NET Framework
- ▹Object oriented design methodology
- ▹Windows and Linux operating systems
- ▹SAFe / Agile / SCRUM development experience/knowledge
- ▹Structured Query Language (SQL); SQL Server / DB Developer
- ▹HTTPS / REST based APIs, Web Development / HTML5, IIS

- ▹Scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Perl, etc.)
- ▹Revision Control process and tools (GitHub)
