The Ocean Club, A Four Seasons Resort (Bahamas) is seeking a Water Safety Specialist. Following the guidelines of the security department, the role performs opening, operating and closing duties while ensuring a continually safe environment for guests, with particular focus on the waterfront (beach) areas. The specialist responds to emergencies, performs rescues, administers First Aid and CPR, and supervises the operation of the motorized water rides.
Responsibilities
- ▹Perform opening, operating and closing duties according to the guidelines set by the security department
- ▹Monitor guest activity within the area of responsibility to ensure a continual safe environment
- ▹Respond to all emergencies within assigned zones, with specific focus on waterfront (beach) areas
- ▹Use trained techniques, including operation of watercraft and rescue boards, to enter the water and assist or rescue individuals requiring aid
- ▹Administer First Aid and/or CPR during emergency situations
- ▹Recognize hazardous situations and behaviors and respond promptly and accordingly
- ▹Assist in the removal and retention of guests during pool or beach evacuation procedures
- ▹Manually control the motorized ride lift operation via a mechanical ride control switchboard (start, stop and evacuate)
- ▹Apply trained emergency action plan (EAP) techniques to properly conduct ride evacuation and safety protocols
- ▹Manually control the motorized ride dispatch station via a mechanical dispatch switchboard to safely launch riders onto the slides
- ▹Closely supervise all ride activity on live video monitors in the video control room
