Senior Java Engineer - Distributed Systems - Elasticsearch
Elastic is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join its Elasticsearch - Distributed Systems team, focusing on scale, performance and resilience. The team owns how nodes in an Elasticsearch cluster communicate and how data is indexed, allocated and replicated across nodes. You will work on concurrent and consistent indexing, cluster coordination, and pushing the limits of shards, nodes and petabytes Elasticsearch can handle. The typical starting salary range for this role is 15,805,300 Ft - 25,001,600 Ft (HUF).

Responsibilities
- ▹Improve Elasticsearch components that support concurrent and consistent indexing across multiple machines
- ▹Maintain the cluster coordination system to keep performance high as nodes come and go and data moves, preserving safety and liveness
- ▹Push the limits on the number of shards, nodes and petabytes Elasticsearch can handle
- ▹Investigate all kinds of issues, including performance or concurrency issues, and propose solutions
- ▹Support support engineers with the harder problems
Requirements
- ▹A strong background in distributed systems and consensus algorithms
- ▹Strong skills in core Java, conversant in the standard library of data structures and concurrency constructs, as well as newer language features
- ▹Deep technical proficiency in algorithms
- ▹Demonstrated ability to understand and work on complex, highly distributed systems
- ▹Ability to build and debug features with broad impact, running on multiple machines
- ▹Ability to own projects from beginning to end, covering technical design and collaboration with others
