Senior Data Engineer
Hiflylabs, a Budapest-based consultancy with 250+ employees, is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to architect modern data platforms and act as senior technical lead for cloud data solutions with a focus on lakehouse architectures. The role combines hands-on architecture work with technical pre-sales activities and leading and mentoring project teams of 3-6 members. Candidates need 5+ years of data engineering experience on Databricks, Snowflake, Azure or AWS-based platforms, a consultancy background, and professional proficiency in both English and Hungarian.

Responsibilities
- ▹Understand and align with business needs and identify the related data requirements
- ▹Participate in technical pre-sales activities, including effort estimation and proposal creation
- ▹Architect and plan robust data models and modern data platforms
- ▹Act as senior technical lead for the development of cloud data solutions, with a focus on lakehouse architectures
- ▹Plan and lead testing activities
- ▹Lead and mentor project teams of 3-6 members
Requirements
- ▹5+ years of data engineering experience
- ▹Hands-on experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Azure or AWS-based data platforms
- ▹Proficiency in assessing business logic, proposal submission and time estimation
- ▹2+ years of experience in a technical leadership or team lead role, guiding data warehouse or lakehouse migration or development projects
- ▹Project experience from a consultancy background
- ▹Professional working proficiency in both English and Hungarian (written and spoken)
Nice to have
- ▹Hands-on experience with legacy on-premise platforms (Oracle, MSSQL)
- ▹Experience in international projects
